Until and including July 25, if you wish to hand over the apartment early, you can schedule an inspection with BSN. During this inspection, you and a BSN representative will go through the unit together and agree on the cleaning status and any damages. Inspections can be carried out on weekdays during daytime hours and must be arranged with the reception.
From July 26 onwards, you must use a checklist envelope, which you place in BSN’s mailbox after the unit has been prepared, no later than 12:00 on July 31. The inspection of your unit will then take place between July 31 and August 3. It is crucial that all points on the checklist are 100% completed to avoid being charged for cleaning. These envelopes are available at the reception.
According to your rental agreement, you are required to hand over the unit thoroughly cleaned. Failure to do so is considered a breach of contract. BSN may charge you additional costs related to cleaning and it could also affect your chances of moving back into BSN in the future. Therefore, it is IMPORTANT that you contact the reception as early as possible if you are unable to complete the cleaning in time. BSN’s cleaning costs will be significantly higher if there is not enough time for proper planning.
The standard hourly rate for BSN’s cleaners is NOK 525, but there is a 100% surcharge for evenings and weekends, making the rate NOK 1050 per hour. Those who schedule early will be accommodated within regular working hours. However, it is likely that overtime rates will apply for unplanned cleanings with short deadlines. You may also be charged additional rent if the unit is not ready by 12:00 on July 31.
A minimum of 2 hours of payment will be charged for initiating cleaning services. Typical cleaning time ranges from 2 to 10 hours. We encourage everyone to follow the instructions on the checklist and to contact the reception during the summer if you have any questions. The reception is open from 09:00 to 15:00 on weekdays up until the move-out period. If you follow the checklist and it is clear that you have made a genuine effort, BSN is unlikely to order cleaning for minor oversights.
If there are damages to the unit that need repair, these must be reported as a maintenance case well before moving out.
