Moving out of the apartment

This information does not apply for tenants in Exchange rooms.

If you wish to hand over the apartment before the end of the contract, an inspection can be arranged with BSN via the chat function on Hybel or by email. This must be done at least 7 days before the desired handover. No rent compensation is given for handing over the apartment early. The inspection is carried out together with the departing tenant and must take place during opening hours.

If there are damages in the apartment that need to be repaired, these must be reported as a maintenance request well in advance of moving out.

What is expected of you

Moving and washing out is time-consuming. How extensive it becomes depends on how well it is cleaned on a daily basis.

There is a requirement for a complete move-out cleaning of the home, including common areas, balconies and storage units when handing over the home. Even if your roommate stays or moves out later.

The moving wash must be thorough. All stains and dirt must be removed, and you must wash places you do not normally wash during normal cleaning. Bathrooms and kitchens must be washed particularly carefully.

Damages and defects must also be registered well in advance of the inspection. So that it can be improved during the responsible tenant’s lease period. If this is registered too late, it can cause a loss of rent for which the tenant will also be responsible.

Tips before you start

Bathroom tiles: Start cleaning the bathroom tiles well in advance of handover. It can be helpful to do a thorough cleaning a few weeks before moving out. Remember to use the correct cleaning products for different areas. If the bathroom tiles have not been cleaned regularly during the tenancy, this can be a time-consuming task that may need to be done in multiple sessions.

Oven: It is a good idea to start cleaning the kitchen oven early. Remember that the rack and baking tray must also be cleaned and free of burnt-on residue (steel wool can be used). If the trays/rack are damaged, report it to the reception for replacement.

Kitchen sink: Clean the sink by filling it with hot water, adding a dishwasher tablet, and letting it sit overnight. Rinse and polish it the following day.

Parking certificate for moving out

It will only be possible to load outside BSN with a valid parking permit. Parking permits must be collected from reception at BSN, and issued when moving out during our opening hours. Please contact reception in good time before you need the parking permit.

General to-do list for relocation:

  • The mailbox key must remain.
  • Remember to report address changes here.
  • The apartment must be completely emptied and cleaned before the handover.
  • If you rent a storage room/parking space, this must be handed over at the same time. The shed must be emptied and swept
  • Your mailbox label must be torn off
  • The outlet after using the washing machine must be sealed with a sealer (only family apartments)
