Exchange

Exchange students are allocated double rooms specifically for one semester contracts. The rooms are fully equipped and ready with bed, bedding, towels etc. when you arrive.

This is the only room type available for less than 12 months so unfortuantely family and studio apartments are not available for Exchange students.

Application process

Exchange students are normally not eligeble for normal admissions at BSN. This due to requirement of Norwegian BankID (Norwegian bank account) and minimum stay of 12 months. Housing applications for exchange students are handled through BI. Exchange students are only accepted after being nominated by BI’s International Office, and BSN does not accept direct housing applications. International payments

You will receive an invoice from Hybel.no apx. 14 days prior to your contracts start. In this message you press “international payment instructions”. Step 1 is Wise transfer and Step 2 gives you IBAN transfer information.

Important to note

Your lease is managed by Hybel.no and your payments are made to Hybel.no, BSN therefore have limited insight in your transaction.
Hybel.no requires that all fees on both ends are paid by you when using international transfers. Meaning that you either need to use a dedicated transfer where both yours and recepients fees are included on your end, or more commonly use a normal international transfer and add receiveing payments to your amount (Ususally NOK 50).

Lost your room chip?

During opening hours: Visit the reception to have the key replaced.

Outside opening hours: Contact the security guard on 22 20 70 00 for immediate assistance.

An item from the inventory list is missing/damaged

If you notice that something is missing or damaged, please contact the reception at Hybel or reach out to us during our opening hours. It is important that you inform us about exactly what is missing or damaged so we can assist you.

Where do i throw garbage?

Trash bags and cardboard should be placed in the chutes outside. If the bag does not fit, you can use the trash room located behind Block B. The room is on the ground floor and can be accessed with a key chip.

Containers for glass and metal are located behind Bunnpris. Larger items must be taken to a recycling station.

How do I open the window?

To open the window fully, first open it slightly. While holding the window steady (without putting weight on it), push the black safety piece on the right side of the window upwards to release the lock.

Approximately 90% of the windows can be opened this way. For the remaining windows, specific instructions can be found in the window frame.

How do I turn the heater on/off?

To turn on the heater, press the square power button at the bottom right. Adjust the temperature by turning the dial at the top of the heater.

My key is not showing in the JustIN app

If your mobile key is not visible in the JustIN app, please check the information we have sent regarding the key activation time. The mobile key will not be available or activated before the stated time, as keys can only be created after the previous exchange students have moved out. If your key is still not visible or does not work after the announced activation time, please contact us as soon as possible.

Another possible reason is that an incorrect phone number was registered in your contract. If your phone number is incorrect, please contact us immediately so we can update it.

How do I report damages?

If you discover any damages or deficiencies in your residence, you can easily report them directly through your Hybel profile. Log in to your profile, go to the messaging function, and select “+ new maintenance case” to get started.
