Application process

To qualify as an applicant at BSN, you must be under 30 years old at the time of move-in and be registered as a full-time student at BI Norwegian Business School, Campus Oslo. Applicants are required to use Norwegian BankID to open a deposit account and sign contracts.

If you have Norwegian BankID, you may apply through the main admission process and follow the application information provided under “Rent conditions”. Applications submitted without Norwegian BankID will be rejected, and you are welcome to submit a new application once your Norwegian BankID is fully set up.

BSN also accepts a limited quota of international BBA and Msc. students through BI’s Housing Guarantee. First-year international students may apply for the Housing Guarantee through BI’s International Office. Students nominated through the Housing Guarantee are not required to have Norwegian BankID.

Students admitted through BI’s Housing Guarantee will be allocated a double apartment, where you share kitchen and bathroom facilities with another student of the same gender.

I’m an incomming international student without BankID but require a studio or family apartment?

Unfortunately BSN cannot accomodate this. You can apply for this housing type at a later stage but this requires you to either stay the full year in a double at BSN or find housing elsewhere and apply to BSN for your second year. Given that you open a bank account in Norway during your first year.

International payments

You will receive an invoice from Hybel.no apx. 14 days prior to your contracts start. In this message you press “international payment instructions”. Step 1 is Wise transfer and Step 2 gives you IBAN transfer information.

Important to note

  • Your lease is managed by Hybel.no and your payments are made to Hybel.no, BSN therefore have limited insight in your transaction.
  • Hybel.no requires that all fees on both ends are paid by you when using international transfers. Meaning that you either need to use a dedicated transfer where both yours and recepients fees are included on your end, or more commonly use a normal international transfer and add receiveing payments to your amount. Ususally NOK 50)
