This applies even if your roommate is staying or moving out later. If your roommate does not assist or remove their items from the bathroom, kitchen, etc., you will need to move these items to clean the cupboards and other areas properly.
Checklist for washing the kitchen
All appliances are cleaned (inside and out)
Cooktop cleaned and free from stains
Sink and faucet are polished
Kitchen fan with filter
Refrigerator and freezer defrosted and cleaned
Areas behind and on the side of the refrigerator
Oven with trays
Checklist for washing the bathroom
Remove dust from the air vent on the wall
Clean drain in shower
Floor and wall tiles, ceiling specially in the shower area
Shower fixture, water mixture, taps to be polished.
Other: toilet, sink, cabinet, etc.
General cleaning in all rooms
Floor and baseboards are washed thoroughly
Stains on walls gently washed
Windows inside and outside including the inside window frames
Curtains should be free of stains
Wash all doors including handles and door frames
Light switches
All furniture
Dust over door frames, ceiling lights, top of wardrobe etc.
Control check
Everything on the inventory list is present
Light bulbs and smoke detector are functional
Mailbox key placed on hook
Remove all non-BSN belongings. Toilet paper, shower curtain, toilet brush, cleaning supplies, trash cans etc.
