Here you will find answers to the most common questions we receive from residents and applicants. Whether it’s about the application process, tenancy, facilities, or other topics, you’ll find useful information here. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, you’re always welcome to contact us directly.

Lost your room chip?

You can call Security at +47 22 20 70 00 for immediate assistance (This is usually a billed service). If it is not urgent you can contact us here.

Lost your mail key?

You can contact us here if you have lost your mailbox key. So we can arrange a pick-up time for a new key. Price for new postal key can be found HERE.

Is there noise in the block?

If you experience disturbing noise from other residents and you know where the noise is coming from, we encourage you to contact the person responsible directly to report that the noise level is disruptive. If the situation does not improve, you can contact the security guard at 22 20 70 00. This is not a billed service.

It must be quiet after 11 p.m., but that does not mean that there should be disturbing noise for other residents before 11 p.m. either.

Can I send my package to reception?

The reception unfortunately does not accept packages. Collection of mail must be arranged with the postal service provider.

What should I do when the network is down?

For questions, you can contact OBOS directly by phone at 21 01 61 50 or send an email to service@opennet.no.

Where do I throw garbage?

Trash bags and cardboard go into the chutes outside. If the bag doesn’t fit, you can use the trash room located behind the B block. The room is on the ground floor and is accessed with a key chip.

Containers for glass and metal are located behind Bunnpris.

Larger items must be taken to the Haraldrud recycling station (link for more information)

Smaller household items can be taken to one of Oslo’s many mini recycling stations (link for more information). It is free to drop off items.

Rent a storage unit or parking space?

BSN offers storage rentals in both the B and C blocks. You can contact us via Hybel or email if you would like to rent a storage unit.

BSN also offers both internal and external parking rentals. If you are interested in a parking space, please contact us via Hybel or email with the following information: your name and the date you would like the space from.

How long is the notice period?

For family apartments, there is a three-month notice period plus the current month. For all other rental units, the contract is non-terminable during the rental period. If you are going on an exchange, you may apply for termination between semesters, typically in October/November. Beyond this, you can submit a request for termination on special grounds.

How do I report damage?

If you discover any damages or deficiencies in your residence, you can easily report them directly through your Hybel profile. Log in to your profile, go to the messaging function, and select “+ new maintenance case” to get started.

Can I avoid paying for rent in June and July?

Unfortunately, you cannot avoid paying rent for June and July. If you return the apartment before the end of the rental agreement, the electricity will be disconnected after the handover, but you will still need to pay rent for the duration of the contract period.

How do I turn the heater on/off?

To turn on the heater, press the square power button at the bottom right. Adjust the temperature by turning the dial at the top of the heater.
