Cancel accommodation
During the contract period, tenants can apply to cancel their lease. BSN will try to find a qualified replacement for the contract and release the tenant from their contract. The new tenant’s contract must start on 1 May at the latest, the new tenant’s contract must be signed by the deadline for applying for contract renewal on 15 March. There is no opportunity to transfer a contract before the start of the contract.
Prioritization | BSN gives priority to applicants with special reasons for the desired breach of contract. Applicants should therefore attach any documentation in the event of illness, interrupted studies or exchange.
Cancellation main assignment
The following only applies to the cancellation of leases awarded during the main intake in the spring/summer to new residents, with contracts starting on 1 August and 12-month contracts.
Does not apply to existing residents, exchange students, or new residents with a contract start before 1 August.
The following form is used to cancel a lease:
“Cancellation of lease under main allocation”. This must be signed and sent to resepsjon@bsn.no
Cancellation will incur the following cost to BSN, which will be deducted from the deposit:
- Until 10 July – NOK 1,000
- Until 31 July – 1st month’s rent
- From 1 August, separate conditions regarding termination described in the tenancy agreement apply
Termination of family flat
Family apartments can be terminated with -3- months’ notice during the contract period. You can find a form for termination here: Termination form family apartment pdf. The signed form is sent to resepsjon@bsn.no or delivered to BSN’s mailbox.
NB. The contract cannot be terminated before it starts. When terminating a contract that has not started/renewed the contract, the notice period will apply to the first 3 months of the contract period. E.g.: a renewed contract that starts on 1 August and is terminated on 1 June will run out Aug-Oct.
