Information About Cleaning And Moving Out

All tenants with contracts ending on July 31, 2024, who will be moving out this summer, should return their keys by placing them in the BSN mailbox outside the office in Building A. Inspections with a BSN representative will not be offered.

Envelopes are available by the mailbox or can be picked up at the reception. The envelopes have a printed checklist that must be filled out. Place the key (room key and garage key, if applicable) in the envelope and seal it. Ensure all points on the checklist are completed thoroughly and adequately to avoid potential cleaning costs.

If there are any damages in the apartment that need repair, they must be reported as a maintenance issue well in advance of moving out.

When you return the keys, BSN will begin the process of settling the final electricity consumption and sending the move-out protocol so that the deposit can be refunded. This will occur continuously in June and July. Keys must be submitted no later than 12:00 PM on July 31.

Incomplete Cleaning:

If you have completed all points on the checklist to a reasonable standard, you will not be charged for cleaning.

However, if you have missed significant points or have not cleaned at all, BSN will order a move-out cleaning at your expense.

Prices for move-out cleaning from our provider, REAL Facility Services, are as follows:

  • Studio: NOK 4,250
  • Double Room: NOK 4,250 for 1 bedroom, NOK 5,250 for both bedrooms
  • 4-Room Apartment: NOK 6,250 for 1 bedroom, NOK 6,750 for 2-4 bedrooms
  • Family Apartment: NOK 5,250

Additionally, rent will be charged for the period the apartment is being prepared. There is approximately a 1-week lead time for move-out cleaning. Therefore, apartments handed over after July 24 should expect to pay about 1 week’s rent compensation as the apartment cannot be cleaned during the tenant’s contract period.

We recommend that all residents clean the apartment thoroughly and follow the checklist. If for any reason you cannot complete this, you MUST contact BSN as early as possible to find a solution. Alternatively, you can hire your own cleaning agency to clean the apartment.

DO NOT hand over the apartment in the last days of the contract period without proper cleaning. BSN will then be unable to prepare the apartment in time for the new tenant, and you will be held responsible for all costs associated with the breach of your lease agreement (inadequate cleaning).
